United Perfumes was created in 2007 by Laurent Delafon and Christopher Yu.  Prior to starting United Perfumes, Chris and Laurent ran their own company (Saint-Germain Ltd) distributing Diptyque in the UK and Ireland.

Born in Paris, Laurent has always worked in the luxury industry.  After honing his skills at Laurent-Perrier Champagne and working with leading luxury goods branding agency Large Smith & Walford, Laurent started Saint-Germain, which focused exclusively on developing the Diptyque brand in the UK.  Laurent has called London home since 1998.

In 2002 Christopher left the City where he worked as a solicitor in investment banking to join Laurent at Saint-Germain.  Originally from New Zealand and with a background in both law and accounting, Christopher practised tax litigation at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Wellington prior to moving to London in 1999.
