United Perfumes was created in 2007 by Laurent Delafon and Christopher Yu.  Prior to starting United Perfumes Chris and Laurent ran their own company distributing Diptyque in the UK and Ireland for 7 years.

Born in Paris, Laurent has always worked in the luxury industry.  After honing his skills at Laurent-Perrier Champagne and working with leading luxury goods branding agency Large Smith & Walford, Laurent started Saint-Germain Ltd, which focused exclusively on developing the Diptyque brand in the UK.  Laurent has called London home since 1998.

In 2002 Christopher left the City where he worked as a solicitor in investment banking to join Laurent at Saint-Germain.  Originally from New Zealand and with a background in both law and accounting, Christopher practised tax litigation at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Wellington prior to moving to London in 1999.
